Growing through our journey

First established in 2002, Republic Polytechnic (RP) started its journey as the youngest polytechnic in Singapore with an initial enrolment of just 800. Over the years, RP has grown from strength to strength building our reputation as a tertiary institution of academic excellence. Today, we are home to a lively community of about 14,000 students and more than 60,000 alumni.

The first version of the RP logo

It was created by Mr Raymond Lee and was chosen out of a pool of 600 designs submitted in a logo design competition.

It was launched on 29 July 2011 as part of an RP rebranding exercise.

Purposeful game-changer

Embodying the values of resilience and excellence, RP alumna Yip Pin Xiu has defied physical disability to become a seven-time Paralympic gold medallist and world champion. She has broken two world records in the 50m and 100m backstroke, making her Singapore’s most decorated Paralympian. #greaterpurpose

Articulate self-starter

Michael Bontigao, once terrified of public speaking, discovered his voice at RP. Since graduating, he has grown into a versatile creative producer at No Average Joe, exemplifying the transformative power of the RP experience. #greaterpossibilities

Passionate community builder

Driven by her passion for sustainability, RP student Choy Zhen earned the NYAA Gold Award in 2022 for her leadership as Head of Events for Healthy Living and Outdoor Appreciation. #greaterimpact
