Frequently-Asked Questions
How many courses can I apply for EAE?
You may indicate up to 3 courses in your application (can be from different polytechnics). As choice order matters, and that you will only receive one course offer, please consider your choices very carefully and indicate your most preferred course as your first choice. Check out the full list of RP's diplomas and common programmes here!
What do I include in my 600-character write-up?
You can demonstrate your passion and strong aptitude for your dream course. Start by describing your relevant accomplishments. For example, if you're applying for arts and creative courses, let us watch the cool videos or animations that you've made or show us your creative portfolio!
You can also share more about your CCAs that are relevant to the course. If you're applying for IT or engineering courses, you can talk about your experience of building your own underwater robots in your school's Robotics Club.
Remember to stay organised and ensure that your write-up is easy to read and has a good flow. Check out our Writing Samples for more tips on how to improve your write-up!
What do I include in my 1000-character write-up?
Highlight your talents and soft-skills as a well-rounded individual! Your write-up should include achievements in areas like leadership, community service, entrepreneurship, arts, and sports.
Took part in an inter school competition or volunteered for a community service trip? Highlight these achievements to make an impression! You can also share your participation in any polytechnic's Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs) to increase your chances.

How will interviews be conducted?
If you're shortlisted, you'll be invited to attend a one-on-one interview or group interview. Your fellow interviewees may become your classmates and they can also help you learn from each other and bounce off ideas. Check out our useful Interview Tips and learn how you can better prepare for the interview.
What happens during the EAE interview?
You'll need to answer some questions or work on activities related to your selected course. If you're applying for IT courses, you may also be asked to complete a pre-interview online coding test. Check out the School Admissions Guides section to learn more.
How can I create my Portfolio?
A good portfolio will let us get to know you better and increase your chances to securing your place via EAE! You can start by gathering your CCA transcripts, testimonials and awards, and present them using free online tools such as Google Drive, Canva, Wix or Weebly. Check out our useful Portfolio Tips section to learn more.
Can I change my course after I've accepted the offer?
No, you will not be able to switch courses within or across polytechnics after accepting the offer. However, you can withdraw your acceptance via the EAE portal within the stipulated window. After which, you will then need to take part in the Joint Admissions Exercise in January 2025 (or other admissions exercises) to enrol into a polytechnic course.
