What is the Early Admissions Exercise?
The Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) allows you to apply to courses in RP based on your interests and aptitudes. You can receive a conditional offer for your dream course prior to your O-Level. Admissions will be based on your final O-Level grades.
Am I eligible?
You qualify for the EAE if you are:
a Singapore Citizen (SC)/Permanent Resident (PR) who has registered to sit for the GCE O-Level examinations in the year of your EAE application, or
International students (enrolled in government, government-aided and Independent Schools) who have registered to sit for the GCE O-Level examinations in the year of EAE application
Important dates and process
June to July 2025: Application
The EAE-O application window will take place from 26 June to 2 July 2025.
You can apply online through the EAE Application Portal and indicate up to 3 courses (can be from different polytechnics). Please refer to the User Guide at the portal on how to apply.
You will also need to submit the following write-ups:
Reasons for course selection (up to 600 characters),
Talents and/or achievements (up to 1,000 characters)
July to September 2025: Interview and Selection
From July to September, you may be shortlisted to attend an interview. The interview will allow you to showcase your strengths and passion to the interviewers. They will evaluate your understanding and suitability for the courses through your write-ups.
Some courses will require you to undergo additional aptitude tests. Check out our EAE Tips section to learn more!
September 2025: Offer and Acceptance
The application outcome will be released online through the EAE Application Portal on 9 September 2025.
If your application is successful, you are required to confirm the acceptance of your offer by 12 September 2025 through the EAE Application Portal. A non-response will be deemed as a rejection of the offer.
In order to confirm your conditional offer, you must fulfil all the Admissions Criteria.
September to October 2025: Withdrawal
Should you change your mind after accepting the posting, you are required to submit your withdrawal online via the EAE Application Portal by 17 October 2025.
February 2026: Enrolment
If your conditional offer is confirmed, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the online enrolment by the end of February 2026. Find out more about online enrolment here.
Admissions Criteria
In order to confirm your conditional offer, you must fulfil all the Admissions Criteria listed below.
Met the course-specific Minimum Entry Requirements (MER) [PDF, 264 KB]
Obtained a net ELR2B2 aggregate score of 26 points or better
Aggregate computation
Net ELR2B2 = English Language (EL) + 2 relevant subjects (R2) + 2 other best subjects (B2) – CCA#
#CCA cannot be used as one of your subjects to compute the score. Instead, it is used to deduct your score to obtain the Net ELR2B2 aggregate.
There are four types of aggregate scores: ELR2B2-A, ELR2B2-B, ELR2B2-C, and ELR2B2-D.
You are granted CCA bonus points if you obtain the following CCA grade: 2 points for Excellent (A1 to A2), 1 point for Good (B3 to C6).
Note:
If you have accepted your conditional offer and met the admissions criteria for the offered course after the release of your O-Level results, you will not be able to switch courses within or across polytechnics. You will also not be eligible to participate in other admissions exercises.
Conversely, your conditional offer will be automatically revoked if you do not meet the admissions criteria upon the release of your O-Level results. You will then be eligible to participate in other admissions exercises.
